Simple Pleasures
Ah, springtime.
That time of year when a young man’s fancy turns to……..brown paper wrapped laundry tied with string?
Yes, you read that right. I was doing laundry this evening and happened to think about a few times in my adult life (that being since I left home for college) when someone else did my laundry. For a year or so while when I was in college while it was part of my room and board and then again twice while I was serving in Bosnia with U.S. Peacekeeping forces in 1996 and 1998. During those times someone else did my laundry.
It was always returned to me, folded, in a brown paper wrapper, tied with string. Such a simple thing, that package. Neat and clean. It’s kind of interesting to me that I happened to think of that tonight and that it brings back fond memories. Just one of life’s simple pleasures.
What are yours?
